The job description:

Assessment of the manufacturer's compliance with the EN 1090-1 certification scheme

The requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering sciences
• IWE/EWE/SFI qualification or equivalent qualification
• Additional training in aluminium welding (e.g., training as aluminium welding supervisor according to the guideline DVS 1179)
• Several years of experience in the monitoring and certification of the production of steel and aluminium construction products
• Knowledge of the EU Regulation 305/2011 (CPR) content and the related assessment and verification systems for constancy of performance
• Knowledge of the content of EN 1090-1
• Knowledge of the content of ISO 19011

Required and additional technical skills according to EN 1090-2, EN 1090-3, EN 1090-4, EN 1090-5 as follows:

EN 1090-2:2018 Expertise:

• Welding: EN 1090-2:2018, Table 14 and 15.
• Design: Engineer or equivalent qualification with good knowledge of structural design according to the DIN EN 1993 standard series, proven by several years of experience in the preparation of stability tests in the industry and/or as test engineer in structural analysis (metal construction)
• Corrosion protection: organic coatings and metallic coatings see EN 1090-2:2018, Annex F
• Mechanical Fasteners: Knowledge of Steel and Metal Construction

EN 1090-3:2019 Expertise:

• Welding: EN 1090-3:2019, Table 7 with specific knowledge for welding aluminium (e.g. but not limited to, training course as welding supervisor for aluminium according to DVS guideline 1179 or additional training course for welding of aluminium materials equivalent
• Design: Engineer or equivalent qualification with good knowledge of structural design according to the DIN EN 1999 standard series, proven by several years of experience in the preparation of stability tests in the industry and/or as test engineer in structural analysis (metal construction)
• Coating: sufficient knowledge of coating processes for aluminium alloys.

EN 1090-4:2018 Expertise:

• Welding: EN 1090-4:2018, chapter 7.1.1
• Design: Engineer or equivalent qualification with good knowledge of structural design according to DIN EN 1993-1-3, proven by several years of experience in the preparation of stability tests in the industry and/or as test engineer in structural analysis (metal construction)
• Corrosion protection: EN 1090-4:2018, Annex E (especially the coating of rolled and drawn materials) and DIN 5634:2010-04
• Adequate knowledge of forming process methods, in particular regarding the material behaviour during cold forming.

EN 1090-5:2017 Expertise:

• Design: Engineer or equivalent qualification with good knowledge of structural design according to DIN EN 1999-1-4, proven by several years of experience in the preparation of stability tests in the industry and/or as test engineer in structural analysis (metal constructions)
• Coating: adequate knowledge of coating processes for aluminium alloys.
• Adequate knowledge of forming process methods, in particular regarding the material behaviour during cold forming.
